TCL’s brand Alcatel has announced two new budget friendly smartphones, A5 LED and A7 in India. The Alcatel A5 LED was launched back in February at MWC 2017, whereas the Alcatel A7 was launched more recently at IFA 2017. Both smartphones will be exclusively available on Amazon from November 10 onward.

Alcatel A5 LED

The smartphone rocks a compact 5.2-inch LCD display with HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 SoC clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can support MicroSD card for expansion up to 128GB. The main USP of the handset will be its modularity as the LED-light flashing back cover can be removed and replaced with other covers, like a battery pack.

As for optics, The device sports a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. And has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video-call. It runs on a 2800mAh battery and boots up on older Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It costs around Rs. 12,999. During the launch period, from November 10 to November 13, the smartphone will be bundled with the 3100mAh POWER+ MOD battery cover in box, worth Rs. 3,999. The LIGHTUP+ MOD is already included.
The Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.2. It measures 146x72x10mm and weighs 159 grams. The Alcatel A5 LED will be available in Metallic Silver.

Alcatel A7

Moving on to the A7, it comes with a bigger 5.5-inch IPS display with Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution. The smartphone is fueled by a 1.5GHz an octa-core MediaTek MTK6750T SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can support MicroSD card for expansion up to 128GB.

Speaking of optics, it features a 16MP camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. And has an 8MP front-facing camera with an 84-degree wide-angle view and a front flash. To keep the lights on, it packs a massive 4000mAh battery with support for fast charging and it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The handset is priced at Rs. 13,999. During the launch period, from November 10 to November 13, the smartphone will be bundled with the TCL Moveband fitness tracker, worth Rs. 2,499.
The Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC. It measures 153x77x9mm and weighs 163 grams. The Alcatel A7 will be available in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold colour variants.
Both smartphones include a one-time free screen replacement during the launch period, up to 20GB additional data from Reliance Jio, exchange offers, and no-cost EMIs.
