Google officially introduced their new OS Android 8.0 Oreo for the smartphones. The company released the developer preview of Android O back in March 2017 and after rigorous testing for five months Google released the Android 8.0 Oreo final build. The company also confirmed that builds for Pixel and Nexus 5X / 6P have entered carrier testing so they would be updated soon.
The New Android O comes with picture-in-picture, which lets the user work on two apps simultaneously, notification dots which lets user tap to see what’s new desktop apps, fully redesigned emoji and 60 new emoji’s, built-in Google Play Protect. It also optimizes smartphones by limiting the background overuse of battery by apps, faster boot speeds, autofill system-wide, and support for Android Instant Apps.
Google will be adding new Project Treble, under which the company has created a modular structure. With this modular structure, third-party vendors can separate out their modifications from the core Android OS, meaning they can customize their features without touching the core Android OS.
The company claims that Android 8.0 Oreo will be released on other brands like Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony by the end of the year.
