Along with the Apple’s 10th Anniversary edition iPhone X, the company released the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus duo at the Steve Jobs Theater in its new headquarters in Cupertino. The smartphones will be available in Silver, Space Gray and Gold colors. The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available pre-ordering from September 15 and go on sale from September 22 onward.
Starting off with the build and design, the smartphone duo comes with aluminium frame and glass back to support wireless charging. Coming to the display, the iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch Retina display with HD+ (1334 x 750) resolution at 326 ppi pixel density, whereas the Plus variant comes with a larger 5.5-inch Retina display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080)resolution at 401 ppi pixel density.
The both handsets boast a 64-bit hexa-core A11 Bionic processor with a first-ever Apple-designed GPU. The A11 Bionic chip features two high-powered cores that are 25% faster than the corresponding ones in the A10 Fusion. The other four cores are power efficient and are 70% faster than the two low-power cores in the A10 Fusion. The company claims a 30% faster performance compared to the GPU inside the A10 Fusion.
Moving on to the optics, the iPhone 8 sports a 12MP on the rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and digital zoom up to 5x. As for the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a horizontal dual camera setup on the rear with a primary 12MP sensor with wide angle, f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12MP sensor with telephoto lens, f/2.8 aperture.
As for pricing, the base variant of iPhone 8 with 64GB inbuilt storage will cost around $699/Rs.64,000 and the 256GB variant will cost around $799/Rs.77,000. Whereas iPhone 8 plus starts at $799/Rs.77,000 for the 64GB model and $899/Rs.86,000 for the 256GB option.
