Apple is expected to unveil three new models of the iPhone by the end of the next month. Two of the models will be the upgraded and redesigned version of current iPhone 7 and the third one will be new iPhone 8 which will be the first device to feature an OLED display.
There have been many rumors regarding the design and the configuration of the upcoming iPhone 8 and now, according to The New York Times the smartphone is expected to be priced at a whopping $999 for the base variant. The higher storage variant could go up to $1100. Apple will be launching the iPhone 8 in three storage variants starting with base model which will have 64GB of built-in storage and would cost somewhere near $350 more than the current iPhone. Other storage variants would include 256GB and 512GB of internal storage.
The smartphone will also come with wireless charging capabilities and would introduce a new security feature facial recognition. It will feature a 5.8-inch OLED display, which would be bezel-less and manufactured by LG. We still haven’t got any confirmation regarding the Touch ID whether it would be embedded into the display or the power button would be used as fingerprint scanner.
