According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Apple will be unveiling their upcoming smartphone iPhone 8 in an event on September 12. And the event is likely to be hosted in Steve Jobs Theater on its new headquarters campus. But the new HQ’s construction is not over yet so that could hamper the plans.
The company can change the venue for the event to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco if the HQ is not ready on time, where it’s held events in the past. Earlier rumors also suggested the same September 12 date for an announcement, in the past iPhone 5 was also released on September 12 in 2012.
At the event, Apple is expected to release three new smartphones consisting of iPhone 8, 7S and 7S Plus. New Apple Watch Series 3 models and Apple TV with 4K video streaming capabilities and HDR support can also be launched along side with iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4, and tvOS 11.
If the report and rumors are to be believed then the new iPhones will be available for purchase from Friday, September 22 onwards as the company takes nearly 10 to 11 days between a new iPhone being announced and its launch. The iPhone 8 will carry a price tag of $999 for base variant.
