Apple will be introducing its new lineup of smartphones on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater. And according to a case maker, the company will be launching Phone 8, iPhone 8 Plus & iPhone Edition instead of iPhone 7s, 7s plus & iPhone 8. The report came from sources in Shenzhen who claim to have seen the new iPhone packaging.
The iPhone Edition will be the 10th anniversary iPhone edition smartphone and will feature a 5.8-inch bezel-less OLED display. As for design, It will sport rear glass casing with stainless steel chassis. The smartphone will have Lightning port same as all current iPhones. The Edition variant will support wireless charging, but at a slower rate and will be compatible with current Qi chargers.
The handset will be powered by new Apple A11 chip. It will be available in three storage variant 64GB, 256GB and 512GB with 3GB of RAM. The handset would sport a vertical dual camera setup with one standard RGB lens and a telephoto lens with 2X Zoom capabilities.
As the company failed to integrate TouchID onto the display in time, so for security it would be using the 3D face recognition system, which will be the primary method to unlock the device. The smartphone will carry a price tag of $999 for base variant and go up to $1400. It will be available for pre-orders from September 12 onwards and go on sale on September 22.
