Remember the Zenfone 3 Go that leaked last week? Well Asus silently introduced it with a different name – Zenfone Live (ZB501KL), targeted at the selfie fans. The device may have average specs but the highlight is the BeautyLive app that lets you stream live through the 13 MP main camera or the 5 MP front one while applying a beautification filter on your face.
The main camera has 1.4µm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and 82-degree field of view. The front one comes with a soft light LED selfie flash. The Live part of the name Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) actually reminds you that you can broadcast to third-party social networks with zero effort through the BeautyLive app. The phone also has dual MEMS microphones to eliminated background noise and enhance voice pickup.
Zenfone Live has an app called Beautificiation that let’s you edit a lot of facial features – skin color, size of eyes, even remove skin blemishes. The selfies sure will look flawless for all the likes on Instagram, Facebook, Weibo and Twitter.
According to the official website of Asus, the Zenfone Live has 5” IPS display with HD resolution and is powered by a Snapdragon SoC though the manufacturer does not reveal the exact chipset. RAM is just 2GB and there are two options for internal storage – either 16 or 32GB. When you register the device with your Google account, you get 100 GB on Google Drive space.
The OS is Android Marshmallow 6.0 skinned with ZenUI 3.0. Battery is 2,650 mAh and is non-removable. There’s no info on availability or pricing yet.
