The Taiwanese smartphone Manufacturer, Asus has released its new camera-centric smartphone Asus Zenfone Zoom S in India on August 17. The smartphone will be exclusively available on E-commerce Platform Flipkart at Rs. 26,999($420). It comes in two color options Glacier Silver and Navy Black.
The smartphone is the successor to company’s last year launch Zenfone Zoom which was also targeted at photography enthusiasts. The device sports a horizontal dual-camera setup with 12MP on the rear with 2.3X true optical zoom and 12X total zoom which will allow users to capture distant objects clearly. One of the 12MP camera has a SONY IMX362 sensor which is coupled with a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle main lens whereas the other sensor comes with large 1.4µm pixels and a dedicated 59mm which is used for zooming purposes.
The camera also has a SuperPixel feature which allows users to shoot clear photos in night-time or in low-light situation at a rapid speed. It also comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for photos and can record 4K videos. Upfront it has a 13MP selfie camera with PixelMaster 3.0 camera, f/2.0 aperture, SONY IMX214 sensor, and a five-element lens.
The Zenfone Zoom S features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and for the protection it has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. The device packs a large 5,000mAh battery and will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow underneath ZenUI 3.0 out-of-the-box and would be upgraded soon.
