TCL, the Chinese smartphone maker, which now owns a BlackBerry has launched their new smartphone BlackBerry Motion. The smartphone was unveiled at the ongoing GITEX 2017 event. The Blackberry Motion will be first available in the Middle Eastern countries, where the price is SAR 1699 in Saudi Arabia and AED 1,699 in UAE. It will be launched globally early next year itself.
Specifications wise, The Blackberry Motion rocks a 5.5-inch display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The display has an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 2TB.
In terms of optics, BlackBerry Motion features a 12MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash capability and ability to record videos in 4K at 30fps. There’s an 8MP front facing camera with Selfie flash feature. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the front side.The Blackberry Motion is the first Blackberry device to feature water and dust resistant properties.
The BlackBerry Motion also comes with many security features like FIPS 140-2 Full Disk Encryption, Android For Work, and Google Play for Work features. It will pack a considerably larger 4000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, and a USB Type-C port. It will be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and would be upgraded to Android Oreo 8.0 in Q1 2018. The connectivity options include 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
