As expected ZTE launched its new smartphone Axon M which was codenamed as Multy. What’s new about the smartphone is the dual display, which can be used in four different ways. Dual mode lets you have one app open per screen, Extended Mode just gives you that 6.75″ canvas to work on, Mirror Mode shows the same content on both displays, and Traditional Mode turns this into a more normal smartphone in folded mode, only powering up one screen.
Under the hood, the ZTE Axon M features dual 5.2-inch TFT LCD display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 426 ppi and for the protection it comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It will be fueled by the older 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage which can support MicroSD for expansion up to 2TB.
As far as the camera is concerned, the handset has just one 20 MP sensor camera with an f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, dual-image stabilization and dual-LED flash which can be utilized in front-facing mode or as rear-facing primary camera. For powering both the display it packs 3180mAh which seems to smaller for dual displays. It runs on Androd 7.1.2 Nougat.
The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz, VoLTE, 4G, and LTE. The dimensions of the smartphone will be 150.8 x 71.6 x 12.1 mm and it weighs around 230 gm. It will be available from next month exclusively from AT&T in the US for either $725 outright, or 30 monthly installments of $24.17. The device will also be released in China, Europe, and Japan in the coming months.
