According to a recent rumor, the upcoming Google Pixel 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SoC and the processor is similar to Snapdragon 835, as it uses similar components with a higher clock speed. The Google pixel 2 is expected to be the first device to feature the processor.
This is not the first time that Google pixel series introduced with a new processor, last year Snapdragon 821 first appeared in the Google Pixel. Earlier it was reported that Samsung Note 8 could also be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 but recent leaks suggest that it would boast a Snapdragon 835 instead.
Xiaomi upcoming high-end handsets like Xiaomi’s Note 3 and the Mi MIX 2 are also expected to boast Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836. The Oneplus can also plan to reveal their next flagship for the year like last year when they released Oneplus 3T which had the Snapdragon 821 and better front-facing camera with a bigger battery capacity etc.
The Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 hasn’t been spotted in any of the benchmarking platforms like Geekbench, Antutu etc., but rumors suggest that the processor will not only have a higher clock speed but will also have a better battery life. In the past, we came across a Geekbench listing where a new handset Samsung SM-G9600 most probably Samsung S9 was powered by new processor sdm840 which could be the Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 840.
