HMD has revealed that all of the company’s Nokia-branded Android smartphones consisting the Nokia 3, 5, 6, and 8 will be receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The company is already providing updates on the smartphones in a regular basis and now the confirmation came from a top HMD executive who posted on Twitter.

In the tweet, Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, said, “All of our smartphones will upgrade to Oreo, Nokia 3 included.” This clearly indicates that the Nokia 3 will be getting the upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo, but Sarvikas further said that he will not be able to share any timeline for the release of this update for the four smartphones.
Google announced Android Oreo on August 21 but so far it’s only been available for Pixel and Nexus devices in the Android beta program. Pixel devices should receive it “soon” Google said at the announcement. And Google also recently announced that devices from several companies, including HMD, will get upgraded to Android Oreo by the end of the year.
