HMD Global is set to introduce a new smartphone on October 31 as it has started sending out press invites for the Event. But for some reason the company is keeping the upcoming smartphone a mystery for now as the invite only comes with the tagline “Save the date” followed by the date and time which will be October 31 and 11:30 AM IST.
As far as one can guess the upcoming smartphone could be the Nokia 7, which was recently unveiled by the company in China on October 19. The Nokia 7 is another mid-ranged smartphone from HMD, which comes with a glass body, and the metal frame is made out of 7000 series aluminium.
Under the hood, the Nokia 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, it comes in two storage options – 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage and a high end variant with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of built in storage. Both variants will support MicroSD card for expansion.
The smartphone would rock a 16MP rear camera powered by Zeiss and it has a f/1.8 aperture. A 5MP front-facing camera is present in the smartphone, and more importantly, it has the Bothie mode, which lets you use both the rear and front cameras at the same time. The device runs Android Nougat out of the box and has a 3000mAh battery with fast charge support.
That said, HMD might bring the Nokia 3310 3G variant or launch the rumoured entry-level Nokia 2 or maybe a 4G feature phone.
