Honor the sub-brand of Huawei has unveiled two new entry level smartphone Honor V9 Play & Honor 6 Play. At the moment the smartphones will only be available in China and will go on sale from September 12 onward.

Honor V9 Play

The smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch LCD display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution and 65-percent NTSC colour gamut and for the protection it has 2.5D curved glass. It will be powered by 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 with Mali T860 GPU. It will be available in two variants 3GB and 4GB of RAM. Both the variants will have 32GB of built-in storage with MicroSD support up to 128GB.

As for optics, the smartphone offers a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash support, PDAF, and 5P lens. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 3000mAh battery that is rated to offer 16 hours of talk time and 15 days of standby time.
The Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS, GLONASS, Micro USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v4.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. On board sensors include accelerometer, ambient light, digital compass, and proximity sensor. Its dimensions are 147.9 x 73.2 x 7.65mm, and it weighs 145g.
The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. The smartphone will carry a price tag ¥999 ($153 or €128) for the variant with 3GB of RAM, and ¥1199 ($183 or €153) for the 4GB option.

Honor V6 Play

The smartphone will feature smaller 5-inch LCD display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution and 65-percent NTSC colour gamut and for the protection it has 2.5D curved glass. It will be powered by 1.4 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737T with Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage with MicroSD support up to 128GB.

On the rear, the smartphone sports a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash support. As for selfie camera, there is a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video-call. It packs a 3020mAh battery and it runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 4.1 on top.
The Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS, GLONASS, Micro USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v4.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. On board sensors include accelerometer, ambient light, digital compass, and proximity sensor. Its dimensions are 143.8 x 72 x 8.85mm, and it weighs 150g. It will cost around ¥599 ($91/€76).
