Taiwanese smartphone brand HTC is working on a new mid-range smartphone Ocean Life which is expected to join the Android One program. The leak came from social networking website Twitter where a reliable tipster LlabTooFeR posted “HTC Ocean_Life will be released under Android One program. It will lose most of the HTC apps and run stock Android O with Sense 9.0_A1.”

Later on, Evan Blass confirmed the report and added an image of the alleged smartphone with the name HTC U11 Life. Looking at the image reveals the smartphone will follow the company’s design aesthetics as it has a bigger bezel on top and bottom with finger-print scanner placed on the bottom. And volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the right side.
As for rumoured specs-sheet, The HTC Ocean Life is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Soc and for the protection it comes with IP68 certified water and dust resistant. It will feature a 16MP camera on both front and rear.It will have HTC’s Edge Sensor which is used to interact with the smartphone by squeezing from the sides, similar to HTC U11.
The handset is expected to cost around $400 in US markets. Google has already released MI A1 under the Android One program and according to rumors there will be an Android One variant of upcoming Moto X4.
