Apple has unveiled two new smartphones, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in India. The smartphone will go on-sale from 6PM Onward. It will be available on online and offline store across the country. The smartphones will be available in Silver, Space Gray and Gold colors.
Starting off with the build and design, the smartphone duo comes with aluminium frame and glass back to support wireless charging. Coming to the display, the iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch Retina display with HD+ (1334 x 750) resolution at 326 ppi pixel density, whereas the Plus variant comes with a larger 5.5-inch Retina display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080)resolution at 401 ppi pixel density.

The both handsets boast a 64-bit hexa-core A11 Bionic processor with a first-ever Apple-designed GPU. The A11 Bionic chip features two high-powered cores that are 25% faster than the corresponding ones in the A10 Fusion. The other four cores are power efficient and are 70% faster than the two low-power cores in the A10 Fusion. The company claims a 30% faster performance compared to the GPU inside the A10 Fusion.

Moving on to the optics, the iPhone 8 sports a 12MP on the rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and digital zoom up to 5x. As for the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a horizontal dual camera setup on the rear with a primary 12MP sensor with wide angle, f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12MP sensor with telephoto lens, f/2.8 aperture.
As for pricing, the base variant of iPhone 8 with 64GB inbuilt storage will cost around Rs.64,000 and the 256GB variant will cost around Rs.77,000. Whereas iPhone 8 plus starts at $799/Rs.73,000 for the 64GB model and Rs.86,000 for the 256GB option.
There are several deals available to buyers that will lower the iPhone 8 price. First up, iPhone 8 offers on Amazon India comprise of exchange discounts of up to Rs. 16,500 on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus 64GB variants. The versions of both phones with 256GB storage will get a maximum of Rs. 12,100 on exchanging an old phone. There are no cost EMIs by major banks as well.
Flipkart offers on iPhone 8 models include exchange discount of up to Rs. 23,000 on the 64GB and 256GB storage options for both phones. There’s a Rs. 10,000 cashback on Citi Credit and World Debit Cards on top of the exchange discount (not for corporate cards though). The cashback will be credited on or before December 30, 2017. This will bring down the effective price of the base 64GB iPhone 8 model to Rs. 54,000, while the 256GB model will drop to Rs. 67,000. Similarly, the effective prices of the 64GB and 256GB iPhone 8 Plus will become Rs. 63,000 and Rs. 76,000, respectively. Be sure to check the seller’s name while making the pre-order as the offer is applicable only on transactions made via Shreyash Retail Pvt. Ltd. (SuperCom Net) on the Flipkart platform.
Jio will be selling the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus via the Jio.com website, Jio Stores, and Reliance Digital outlets; pre-bookings can be made via the company for Rs. 1,999 and cannot be cancelled. The Citibank Rs. 10,000 cashback offer is applicable on purchases made via Jio as well. The company will also launch an exclusive tariff plan for the two Apple smartphones. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus buyers can opt for the upcoming Rs. 799 plan that provides 90GB of data (3GB per day), free SMSes, subscription to Jio apps, and free calls. The validity of the plan is 28 days for prepaid users, and one billing cycle for postpaid users.
There is also a cashback offer for the consumers who purchase the new iPhone 8 models from Reliance Digital, Jio.com, Jio Store, and MyJio app will also get 70 percent cashback if they return the handset after a year. Consumers need to install the MyJio app on the phone to claim the offer, and use a Jio SIM card for a year before returning it over at a Reliance Digital store. The buyback guarantee will entitle consumer to 70 percent of the value of the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus which ever device they buy, minus the taxes applied.
