The much awaited smartphone iPhone 8 is set to launch on September 12 at 10AM. The company has started sending out press invitation for the event which will be held at its new headquarters in Cupertino for the first time at the Steve Jobs Theater.
The invitation comes with company logo and plain tagline “Let’s meet at our place.” followed by the venue and timing. But Apple is expected to launch three new smartphones consisting of iPhone 8, 7S and 7S Plus. New Apple Watch Series 3 models and Apple TV with 4K video streaming capabilities and HDR support can also be launched along side with iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4, and tvOS 11.
iPhone 8 will feature a bezel-less 5.8-inch display, along with a cut out for the front-facing camera, similar to the Essential smartphone. The Apple iPhone 8 would also integrate TouchID onto the display according to several rumours. Other security features include 3D face-scanning camera and IRIS scanner same as Samsung smartphones.
The smartphone will be powered by new Apple A11 chip. It will be available in three storage variant 64GB, 256GB and 512GB with 3GB of RAM. The handset would sport a vertical dual camera setup with one standard RGB lens and a telephoto lens with 2X Zoom capabilities. It will also feature wireless charging. The iPhone 8 will carry a price tag of $999 for base variant.
