Jio is looking to launch its FTTH service called Jio Fiber and it will be rolled out as a Preview in the coming weeks. According to the reports, Jio has already started trials in various cities and is ready for commercial launch. FTTH is a broadband network architecture using optical fiber to provide all or part of the local loop used for last mile telecommunications.
Subscribers who register for the FTTH broadband Preview will be required to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 4,500. While it’s still not exactly clear whether Jio Fiber broadband Preview will have the same three-month usage window as Jio 4G Preview did back in the day when it was free, but, the service will come with an FUP of 100 GB after which the speeds will go down to 1 Mbps.Jio Fiber broadband Preview is expected to go live starting with Mumbai and hopefully other cities will follow in the days to come.
Plans are said to start from 100 Mbps speed. Reliance Jio’s upcoming FTTH service is not just about speed and tariff, it has several other features to offer. one of those features will have a smart calling feature that will virtually connect the cell phones to landline i.e one can redirect their landline calls to their cellphones. Lets hope this Service makes its way as soon as possible and create another tariff war in this industry so that user could get a better bang for the buck.
