LG has unveiled an entry-level smartphone LG K7i in India. The main highlight of the smartphone will be Mosquito Away technology as the device comes with an additional rear cover bundled in the box that can be placed on the phone when required which has a speaker that produces ultrasonic frequencies said to drive mosquitoes away. Consumers will also get a stand in the package to place the smartphone when required.
The Mosquito Away technology uses 30KHz ultrasonic sound waves which said to be harmless to humans and used to drive away mosquitoes. The company claims that the smartphone has no harmful chemicals, and neither were any used in developing it.
Moving onto the specs-sheet, the LG K7i will feature a 5-inch OnCell display with 854 x 480 resolution. It will be powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which could be expanded via MicroSD card.
On the rear it will sport an 8 MP main camera with LED flash and has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video-call. The handset runs on older Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs a 2500 mAh battery.
The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio. The Smartphone measures 144.7×72.6×8.1mm, and weighs around 138 grams. It would be available in brown color and would carry a price tag of Rs. 7,990($122/€104).
