As expected, the Motorola has launched their new mid-ranged smartphone, Moto X4 in India today. The smartphone was earlier announced in IFA Berlin 2017 in the month of August. It will be available exclusively on E-commerce portal Flipkart from tonight onward. The smartphone comes in two colour options Super Black and Sterling Blue.
The Moto X4 will be the first smartphone by the company with IP68 water and dust resistant and has a new three-finger screenshot gesture (along with other Moto experiences). It comes with an inbuilt password manager called Moto Key, a service that allows users to access password-secured websites by just a single-tap on the X4 and the latest Bluetooth support brings the ability to allow it to sync with four speakers or headphones at one time. The smartphone supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Moving onto the specification, The Moto X4 will feature a 5.2-inch LTPS IPS display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The smartphone will boast a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU. It will be available in storage option, the base variant comes has 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal and premium variant has 4GB of RAM with 64GB of built-in storage. Both variant will support MicroSD Card up to 2TB.
Coming to the camera, The handset will sport a horizontal dual camera setup with a primary 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size. Secondary is an 8MP 120° ultra-wide angle behind f/2.2 lens and with 1.12um big pixels. The additional camera features include phase-detection, dual-tone LED flash, bokeh effects, ultra-wide angle shot, selective black&white, background replacement, and 4K video recording.
In the front, the selfie-camera will come with a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size, which company claims will be great for ultra low-light selfies and will come with an Adaptive Low Light mode. It is capable of shooting 4k video at 30 frames per second or Full HD video at 60 frames per second. It comes with features like selfie panorama, face filters, beautification mode, and professional mode. It packs a 3000mAh and will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with a guaranteed upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo later this year.
The Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS, GLONASS, 4G LTE, and FM radio support. The dimensions of the Moto X4 are at 148.35×73.4×7.99mm, and the smartphone weighs 163 grams. The smartphone sports an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. As for pricing, the base version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM will carry a price tag of Rs. 20,999($321/€276) and the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM cost around Rs. 22,999($351/€302).
