At Steve Jobs Theatre, the company unveiled a new streaming device called Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV 4K will support High Dynamic Range (HDR), Dolby Vision and 4K Ultra-HD resolution. Apple TV 4K price in the US will start at $180 for 32GB and 64GB will cost around $200. It will be available for pre-order from September 15, and go on sale from September 22 onward.
Apple has partnered with movie studios to provide content and cost will be nominal as the 4K movies will cost as much as HD video. And if consumers have already got a movie in HD, it will be automatically updated to 4K resolution without any extra charges. The company will be bringing live sports, News and Media later this year.
The Apple TV 4K is powered by the custom-made A10X Fusion chip coupled with 3GB of RAM. The processor is the same which is used on the Apple iPad Pro. As for performance, it has double the CPU power and has a four times faster GPU. It will also come with features like VoiceOver, Zoom, Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion, Closed Caption, SDH Support, Audio Descriptions, Dictation and Switch Control.
