After many teaser and promotions Oppo F5 has been finally unveiled by the company at an event in the Philippines. The smartphone is the successor of Oppo F3 which was released earlier this year. The Oppo F5 will be available for pre-order in the Philippines starting tomorrow and will go on sale from next week onward.
Moving on the specs-sheet, the Oppo F5 sports a 6-inch LTPS TFT display with Full-HD+(2160 by 1080 pixels) resolution and has an aspect ration of 18:9. It is fueled by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6763T clubbed with ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU to handle graphical tasks.
The standard Oppo F5 has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, whereas the premium variant has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and lastly, the Oppo F5 Youth Edition has lower RAM and internal storage. All variants could extend their storage via Micro SD card up to 256GB.
The main highlight of the Oppo F5 will be its 20MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and it is backed by an impressively-big 1/2.8-inch sensor, while on the software side there is AI beauty which will highlight features like eyes, nose, jawline or cheekbones in selfies. The front shooter can also be used to unlock the smartphone as Oppo has added a dedicated Face Unlock feature in the smartphone. The Oppo F5 can capture Portrait Mode selfies with artificial blur too.
On the rear, it comes with a single 16MP sensor with a respectable f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. The Oppo F5 pack a 3200mAh and runs on ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The 4GB+32GB version will be available in Gold and Black, while the RED color will be exclusive for the high end variant, which come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, EDGE/ GPRS, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, OTG and Wi-Fi. The sensors on-board are Distance sensor, Light sensor, G-sensor and E-compass. The smartphones dimensions are 156.5mm x 76mm x 7.5mm and weighs around 152gm.
