The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has officially announced the budget-friendly Youth variant of the Oppo F5. The smartphone is already available in Philippines and now it has made its way to India. It come in Black and Gold color options and it could cost around Rs. 16,990 ($264/€224) on both online and offline stores. Its configuration is similar to its normal Oppo F5 version with some minute cutbacks.
Under the hood, the Oppo F5 Youth sports a 6-inch LTPS TFT display with Full-HD+(2160 by 1080 pixels) resolution and has an aspect ration of 18:9. It is fueled by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6763T clubbed with ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU to handle graphical tasks.
The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, and the storage could be extended via Micro SD card up to 256GB. The main difference from the standard Oppo F5 will be its lower 16MP front-facing sensor with f/2.0 aperture and it is backed by an impressively-big 1/2.8-inch sensor.
While on the software side there is AI beauty which will highlight features like eyes, nose, jawline or cheekbones in selfies. The front shooter can also be used to unlock the smartphone as Oppo has added a dedicated Face Unlock feature in the smartphone. The handset can capture Portrait Mode selfies with artificial blur too.
On the rear, it will also have a lower 13MP sensor with a f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It also packs a similar 3200mAh and runs on ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.The connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, EDGE/ GPRS, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, OTG and Wi-Fi. The sensors on-board are Distance sensor, Light sensor, G-sensor and E-compass. The smartphones dimensions are 156.5mm x 76mm x 7.5mm and weighs around 152gm.
