The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo is known for their selfie camera prowess and is set to launch the Oppo R11s at an event on November 2. The company has listed the on its’s shopping portal which also revealed most of the specification and design.
And now a new teaser was posted by the company online which indicates that the upcoming smartphone will come with selfie-centric AI which is specifically programmed to assist users to take a perfect selfies. The AI technology embedded is able to accurately differentiate the user’s gender and age, as well as analyzes the skin tone and complexion.
The Oppo R11s front-facing camera will be able to detect and learn up to 254 facial feature points and use these points to learn the owner of the phone. This information will include face shape and even go as far as determining skin tone and the age of the user. These details will then be fed into the AI where the R11s will automatically choose the best beautification feature automatically.
The AI feature could be similar to company selfie expert smartphone, Oppo F5 which was released yesterday and it also comes with AI beauty which will highlight features like eyes, nose, jawline or cheekbones in selfies. The front-facing camera is even capable of taking Portrait Mode selfies with artificial blur too.
As for the specification, The Oppo R11s rocks a 6.0-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+(1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution and has an 18:9 aspect ratio with on screen navigation keys. It boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mated with Adreno 512 GPU. The handset comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage.
As for the optics, it features a horizontal dual rear camera setup with two 20MP sensors. And in the front, it has a similar 20MP front-facing camera for selfies and video-call. The pricing of the smartphone is not yet revealed, but it would cost around ¥3000 ($452/€383) as its predecessor was also around that.
