There were reports that Reliance Jio was working on feature phone which would be 4G Volte enabled. Now we have got our confirmation and some images are also leaked of the feature phone. According to a leakster on twitter the devices will be starting from Rs.1500 ($24) will go upto Rs.1800 ($28).
The device is a normal candy bar mobile phone with a display and keypad. It also has dedicated keys for MyJio, JioTV, Jio Cinema, and Jio Music at the end of the screen. Previously, there were rumors that these feature phones will be powered by Qualcomm Soc and Spreadtrum Soc.
Another image leaked which shows a different model altogether, this one is also a candy bar mobile phone but it doesn’t have dedicated keys like the previous device. This device has a torch light home button, a call button, call disconnect button, a menu button, and a back button similar to the Nokia feature devices. Feature phone also shows a Jio 4G SIM card in the phone with 4G network at the top right corner with full coverage.
As for specification devices are rumored to have 512MB of RAM and a 4GB of internal storage which can be extended by microSD card. There is no knowing when the company is going to unveil these devices as of now, but hopefully they could release these device in coming months. This will be a welcome change in Indian telecom industry and also would increase pressure for the company’s competitors which could mean better bang for the buck deals for Indian subscribers.
