Samsung has released their new flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in India today at an event in New Delhi. The smartphone price range will start from Rs. 67,900 in Indian markets. The handset will come in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colour options.
Moving onto the configuration, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will feature a 6.3-inch SAMOLED display with Quad-HD+ (2960 x 1440) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. For protection it will come with IP68 water and dust resistant certified. The smartphone will boast 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 8895 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 256GB.
As for the optics, it will sport a horizontal dual cameras with a primary 12MP sensor which will have Wide-angle f/1.7 aperture and the telephoto lens will also have a 12MP sensor but with f/2.4 aperture. Both the sensors would support OIS (optical image stabilization). And front-facing shooter would have an 8MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture. It will pack a smaller 3300mAh battery compared to its predecessor and S8 duo. The device will be running Touch Wiz based on Android 7.1.1.
The new S PEN would also have dust and water protection as it has IP68 certification and has more levels of pressure sensitivity. The S PEN will come with a new animated GIF feature.
The connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE (LTE Cat. 16), dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, MST, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, iris sensor, proximity sensor, and RGB light sensor.
