Samsung is working on the Active variant of the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 for some time now. Recently detailed specification of Samsung’s rugged smartphone was leaked online on Chinese social networking website Weibo.
According to the leak the Galaxy S8 Active will feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen with QHD(2960 x 1440) resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 on the top for protection similar to galaxy S8 variant. But the Active version won’t have an infinity display with curved edges. The smartphone will also boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Soc with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via MicroSD Card up to 256GB.
It will pack a bigger 4000mAh battery compared to the 3,000mAh battery of the Galaxy S8. As for optics it will sport the same 12MP camera on the rear and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video-call. The Galaxy S8 Active is built with a polycarbonate back and metal rims and it will support for wireless charging. It also comes with MIL-STD-810G-certified shock resistance which will protect the device during some nasty drops etc..
The device will support Bixby and will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat with Touch wiz on top. The device will be available in two color variants Meteor gray and Titanium Gold.
