Sony at IFA has unveiled its new lineup which will consists of Sony Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus. The Xperia XZ1 will be the flagship of the year for the company with a compact variant Xperia XZ1 Compact whereas the Xperia XA1 Plus will be a mid-tier smartphone. New Xperia X lineup will feature MotionEye camera with 3D-image sensing, Hi-Res audio, etc..

Sony Xperia XZ1

Starting with the flaghship, the Sony Xperia XZ1 has a 5.2-inch Triluminos HDR display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. Additionally, the smartphone comes with 64GB of fast UFS storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card.

On the rear, Sony Xperia XZ1 sports a Motion Eye 19MP Exmor RS sensor camera with 3D scanning abilities as its highlighted feature. It will also support 5-axis stabilisation and is capable of doing slow-motion video recording at 960fps, similar to its predecessor Xperia XZ Premium, with 4K video recording. As for Selfie camera it will feature a 13MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and 22mm wide-angle lens for group selfies and it has an Exmor RS mobile imaging sensor.

The handset packs a smaller 2700mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The smartphone is water and dust resistant with an IP68 certification. For audio, the smartphone comes with Hi-Res Audio, digital noise cancellation, S-Force surround sound, stereo recording, and Qualcomm’s own aptX audio software. It will be available in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colours. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE, VoLTE, NFC, Dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi a/c and USB 3.1. The smartphone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo with Sony custom skin on top.

Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact

The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact will be the compact variant of Xperia XZ1. It will feature a 4.6-inch Triluminos display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone will come with a 32GB of fast UFS storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card.

The smartphone sports a 13MP camera with 3D scanning abilities on the rear. It will also support 5-axis stabilisation and is capable of doing slow-motion video recording at 960fps, same as Xperia XZ1, with 4K video recording. Moving onto the selfie camera, it will have an 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.4 with 120-degree field of view for selfies and video-call.

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus will have a 5.5-inch Triluminos display with full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and Mali T-880 MP2 GPU for graphics. As for built in storage, the smartphone comes with 32GB of fast UFS storage which can be expanded via a microSD card.

The handset will sport a 23MP camera with f/2.4 aperture, hybrid autofocus on the back. As for front-facing camera, the smartphone will feature an 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.4 with 120-degree field of view for selfies and video-call. It will be available in Black, Blue, Gold and Pink colours.

Connectivity includes Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE, VoLTE, NFC, Dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi a/c and USB 2.0. The smartphone will also be running on Android 8.0 Oreo underneath Sony custom skin.
