The Chinese smartphone maker will be unveiling their new budget-friendly smartphones, Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus tomorrow. But before unveiling the upcoming smartphones were listed on famous E-commerce website AliExpress where the pricing of were revealed along with some minute details.
The AliExpress listing reveals that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be priced at $199.99(€169/Rs.12,888). The handset will be available in four colors such as Black, Blue, Pink and Gold. While, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will carry a price tag of $249.99(€211/Rs.16,111) and will be available in similar color choices.
The listing pages on the E-commerce website AliExpress mentions that the devices are in pre-sale stage so they haven’t published any feature details.
As for specification, The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch display with HD (720 × 1440 pixels) resolution and has an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be fueled by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz and has a Adreno 506 GPU. The handset will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. But there is a possibility of base model which will have 3GB of RAM with 32GB of built-in storage. Both variants are expected to support MicroSD card for expansion of storage.
In terms of optics, the smartphone will sport a single 12MP camera on the rear. And in the front it has a 5MP camera with soft LED flash. It will pack a smaller 3300mAh battery when compared to its predecessor and come loaded with latest MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will measure 7.7mm in thickness and weighs around 157 grams.
Moving to the Redmi 5 Plus, it will rock a bigger 5.99-inch display and come with similar 18:9 aspect ratio. It will also be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor which is clocked at 2.0GHz mated with the Adreno 506 GPU. The handset will be available in two storage options, the base variant will come with 3GB of RAM with 32GB of built-in storage, while the premium version will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both variants will support MicroSD card for expansion of storage.
