Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi Note 5A smartphone in its homeland China. Now, Xiaomi is preparing to launch a budget friendly smartphone Redmi 5A, which would be a successor to last year’s popular Redmi 4A. As the smartphone was recently spotted on the TENNA revealing its configuration and design.
According to the TENAA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A will feature a 5-inch display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. The device measures 8.35mm in thickness and its weight is 137 grams. It is expected to be available in multiple colors such as black, white, silver, gray, rose gold, gold, blue, red and pink. There is no confirmation whether these color options will be readily at the launch of the phone.
The smartphone is expected to be fueled by Snapdragon 425 SoC same as its predecessor and will be available two storage options 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage and another variant will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built in storage. It is will sport an 8MP on the rear camera which seems downgraded when compared to its predecessors 13MP and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The handset will come loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat with custom MIUI 9 on top and is expected to house a smaller 3000mAh battery. It has a unibody metal design. As for pricing, the 2GB + 16GB variant of the Redmi 5A is expected to be priced at ¥599 ($90/€77) while the 3GB + 32GB variant will carry a price tag of ¥699 ($105/€90). It is expected to launch on October 20.
