The Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be unveiling its new mid-ranged smartphone, Redmi Note 5 soon. The Redmi Note 5 will be the successor of the last year’s Redmi Note 4. The specification and the pricing of the smartphone were leaked on the Chinese social networking website weibo.
According to the leak the upcoming smartphone will be powered by an MediaTek processor instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon, which was suggested in an earlier leak. As per the new leak the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 SoC, built on 16nm manufacturing process.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5 inch display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution similar to its predecessor Note 4. It will come in two storage options base variant will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and the high-end variant will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.
Moving on to the optics, the smartphone will sport a dual camera setup on the rear with one 12MP sensor and another 5MP sensor. And in the front, it will come with a 12MP sensor for selfie, video-call, etc.. It will pack a 4000mAh battery which less when compared to its predecessor and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 on top. It will also support USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 3.0.
As for pricing base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage would carry a price tag of ¥999 ($151/€127) whereas the high-end variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage will cost around ¥1299 ($198/€165). No other details and launch date are known at the moment.
