Xiaomi is planning to launch a new smartphone series in the Indian market on November 2. They have already started sending out press invites for the event. The company has already introduced some new series in the country this year such as Mi A1 and MI Mix 2.
There’s no info available on which smartphone Xiaomi is going to unveil on the date, but as per the teaser image which comes with tagline #YourBestSelfie indicates it will be the first selfie-centric smartphone by the company which is expected to run on MIUI 9 as there is a thunder logo, which matches insignia of the MIUI 9. But according to some reliable sources the upcoming smartphone could be MI note 3 which was released last month.
As for the specs sheet of MI Note 3, it sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution with a pixel density of 403ppi and a 94.4 percent NTSC color gamut. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 paired with 6GB of RAM. It will be available in two storage option 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. It packs a 3500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat underneath MIUI 9.
In terms of camera, the smartphone features a horizontal dual rear camera setup with primary 12MP sensor with a wide-angle lens, f/1.8 aperture, and 4-axis optical image stabilization, and the secondary 12MP sensor coupled with a telephoto lens, and an f/2.6 aperture. On the front, it has a 16MP front snapper with Adaptable AI Beautify which smooths skin and can even change the shape of a face.
The connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board consists of accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, and proximity sensor. It measures 152.6×73.95×7.6mm and weighs 163 grams. The 6GB + 64GB variant in Black color costs RMB 2,499 ($383/€320), 6GB + 128GB variant in Black priced at RMB 2,899 ($444/€370) and 6GB + 128GB variant in Blue carry a price tag of RMB 2,999 ($460/€380).
